Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce 5K

The Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce 5K returns on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at the Penwood Church of Christ in the community of Waterhouse. The 5K was created to celebrate and support the foundational belief that children must be given every advantage to excel and succeed.

This belief is indisputable in the mind of our beloved Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, and was in that of her late Pastor Hugh Senior. Pastor Senior was the impetus behind a scholarship program for the children of the Waterhouse community, and Shelly-Ann is committed to seeing this program grow and support even more students: so the Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce / Hugh Senior 5K Run/Walk was created.

As pastor of the Church and a pillar of the community, Hugh Senior oversaw the operation of the Penwood Early Childhood Institution and the Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce Community Resource Centre, both of which were geared towards the upliftment and development of community members. Pastor Senior, who had overall responsibility and oversight for the institutions, passed away suddenly in 2017, and was well known within the community.

Last year the 5K allowed for scholarships to 10 students - whose awards you can view HERE.

The Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce Hugh Senior 5K would like to support even more students this year. We are running for the education, for the future, of our children. Will you run?
