Oraine Wint and Aleitha McLaughlin were the junior winners at the Jamaica Amateur Athletic Association (JAAA)'s Cross Country Championships held at the Manchester Golf Club in Mandeville earler today (February 13).

Wint crossed the finish line in 22:16 followed by Rushane Johnson and Ainsworth Daley with a time of 22:38 and 22:52, respectively. In the 4K Junior women section, McLaughlin (17:11) won ahead of Shana-Kay South (17:15) of St. Jago and Roshae Burrel (17:28).

Demarley Johnson topped the 8K Senior's category in 29:10 ahead of Kirk Brown (29:11) and Shawn Pitter (29:39). While Tanice Barnett took the senior women's 6K in 25:30 ahead of Arusha McKenzie (28:21) and Omoya Bailey (28:26).

The event was a qualifying one for athletes who seek to represent Jamaica at the NACAC Cross Country Championships in Trinidad & Tobago on February 19, 2011.
