Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce / Hugh Senior 5K

The inaugural Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce / Hugh Senior 5K takes place on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at the Penwood Church of Christ in the community of Waterhouse. The 5K aims to commemorate the life of the late Administrative Pastor Hugh Senior, and to establish a scholarship fund to provide assistance to needy students in their education pursuits.

As pastor of the Church and a pillar of the community, Hugh Senior oversaw the operation of the Penwood Early Childhood Institution and the Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce Community Resource Centre, both of which were geared towards the upliftment and development of community members. Pastor Senior, who had overall responsibility and oversight for the institutions, passed away suddenly on September 3, 2017, and was well known within the community.

This year, the Penwood Church of Christ is also celebrating its 61st year of operation in the community of Waterhouse.

Over the years, through the efforts of the Church, & the Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce Resource Centre and the Early Childhood Institution, meaningful contributions have been made to the spiritual, social, intellectual and economic development of  Waterhouse community members.
