JN Foundation Heroes In Action Run

The JN Foundation Heroes in Action Run/Walk is a Run/Walk event that is being hosted by the JN Foundation, with the support of Dr. The Hon. Usain Bolt and the Usain Bolt Foundation. Established in 1990, the JN Foundation is the corporate social responsibility arm of The Jamaica National Group. By forging meaningful partnerships, the Foundation continues to empower Jamaican communities and create sustainable development by identifying, developing and providing technical and financial support to projects and programmes in the areas of rural development, health, housing, education, youth and safety.

The Heroes in Action Run/Walk will be held at the Falmouth Port in Trelawny on Sunday, October 15 starting at 7:00 a.m. (warm up at 6:30 a.m.) and will culminate in a post-run celebration featuring an awards ceremony.

The beneficiary will be Trelawny Infirmary which is located at 5 Rodney Street, Falmouth, Trelawny. This year, we Run for Our Heroes our elders who have made significant contributions to nation building and our society in their younger days. JN salutes the residents at the Trelawny Infirmary, which operates under the purview of the Poor Relief Department of Local Government, caters for Falmouth’s aged population and is the only free government facility of its kind in the Parish. Most of the 62 residents at the Infirmary is aged, with a few younger individuals who have a variety of mental health challenges.

How To Register

Registration is open to all individuals and teams (corporate, clubs, church groups).

The registration deadline is Wednesday, October 11, 2017 or upon achieving the event quota, whichever comes first. THERE IS NO RACE DAY REGISTRATION.

Registration Fees

  • Individuals - $1,200 per person
  • Teams of 20 persons or more - $1,000 per person
  • Students (17 Years & Under with show of an ID or school team registration) - $600 per person
  • Souvenir T-Shirts are available at an additional cost of $1,500 each

Entries are neither refundable nor transferable, and name changes are not allowed.

Package Pick Up

Race packets must be collected before race day from Thursday and Friday, October 12 - 13 at JN Bank Half Way Tree branch, 2 - 4 Constant Spring Road, Kingston 10 from 11:00am to 5:00pm; and on Saturday, October 14 at the Falmouth Cruise Port, Trelawny from 2:00pm to 5:00pm. THERE IS NO NUMBER PICK-UP ON RACE DAY.

Each entrant will receive a race bib with an attached chip that will provide your personal race time from start to finish. DO NOT bend or fold your bib as this may damage the chip which may affect your race time. Remember you must cross the mats at the start and finish of the course in order to get an accurate race time.

Your bib number will be labelled with your name and marked for the event you entered. The bib is to be pinned to the front of your shirt. You must wear the bib number assigned to you. Switching of race events is NOT allowed once race registration is closed. Entrants in the Run event can Run and Walk. However, the Walk race is for Walkers Only.

Each participant is responsible for knowing and complying with all the official Chip Timing Rules & Guidelines. Failure to comply with the rules of the event will subject you to disqualification.

Kingston Route: Kingston - Spanish Town, Linstead, Ocho Rios, St. Ann’s Bay = Falmouth. Cost - J$1,780 per person.

May Pen Route: May Pen, Mandeville, Brown’s Town = Falmouth. Pick up / Departure - 3:00am. Cost - J$1,840 per person.

Montego Bay Route: Negril, Montego Bay, JN Financial Services = Falmouth. Pick up - 3:45am / Departure - 4:00am. Cost - J$2,077 per person
