Digicel 5K For Special Needs

The Digicel 5K for Special Needs on Saturday, October 6, 2018 will again shine a light on our Special Needs community as thousands of extraordinary Jamaicans will take to the streets to race through Downtown Kingston. Starting at 7:00pm, this first-ever night run sets in motion an electrifying evening - all with a goal to raise funds and increase awareness for Special Needs.

With a record-breaking 10,000 entrants supporting the event last year, Digicel was able to raise $8m, which went towards 5 special needs institutions to make necessary infrastructural and developmental upgrades, providing scholarships for needy special needs students, getting the necessary specialised training for teachers and caregivers.

The organizations to benefit from this year's proceeds are the Jamaica Association on Intellectual Disabilities, Early Stimulation Plus, Community Based Rehabilitation Jamaica, Jamaica Autism Support Association, Jamaica Society for the Blind, Jamaica Down's Syndrome Foundation and Promise Learning Centre.

The exciting Fun Zones are back and will be expanded to include more fun diversions along the race route.

Featuring MYLAPS BibTag timing, participants will be treated to premium runner care and special post-race activities.
